The Super Yachting Index is the yearly overview of the largest Superyachts in the world today. In 2009 the construction of > 30 m yachts dropped by 18% to 213. The number of new contracts dropped from 241 to 90. The Super Yacht Index can be found here (Super Yacht Index 2009)

The biggest yachts owned by Russian Oligarchs

In 2008 only 14 superyachts where delivered to Russian citizens. In 2009 only 10. The average length in 2009 still being 84 meters. It dropped significantly in 2009 to a mere 50,4 meters. Abramovitsch holds the longest yacht in the world today (162,50 m), much to the dismayal of Mr. Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum who is quickly enlarging the nose on his current yacht (162 m).

He is also chairman of Polyus Gold, Russia's largest gold producer, and President of ONEXIM Group (A private Investment Fund)
