He suvived 5 United States Presidents and has been around to see the Glasnost area of the late 80's; the Start treaty; the 1st and 2nd Irak wars and many other historical events. Larry King; an icon in American Broadcasting has spoken his final words after 25 years of anchoring the Larry King Show.

Larry King: The Godfather of American Talk Show

Larry King (77) has conducted some 50.000 interviews in a broadcasting career where he worked for decades in radio before joining the newly formed CNN in 1985, where he recorded more than 6.000 shows.

So why do I believe he is the Godfather of American Talk Show hosts? He is not known for his in-depth style of interviewing. In fact this has always been one of the biggest critism against him. Yet, this is not what Americans really want. America - know as a little bit of a supervisual culture - wants simplicity and strong headlines. And Larry King did just that: "Give the American audience the simple strong headlines that make up the news".

"Why?"

His approved will always be known by the simple question "Why?" As he always said: "The best question of all is 'why?' because it can't be answered in one word and it forces people to think."

Some of his most famous and recent interviews would definately be the one with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who lashed out at Benjamin Netanyahu calling the Israeli prime minister a "skilled killer" who "should be put on trial for killing women and children." Ahmadinejad also denied the holocast at one point. There you have you're headline.
